Herman Cortez Sr. - President
Herman Cortez Sr., a dedicated co-founder of the North Texas Aggies Baseball Club. With over three decades of coaching experience in youth baseball, Herman has mentored players from ages 8 to 18, fostering their growth both on and off the field. Prior to establishing the North Texas Aggies Baseball Club, Herman served as a board member and director for the Cedar Hill and Grand Prairie Baseball organizations.
Driven by a commitment to accessibility and affordability in the DFW marketplace, Herman founded the North Texas Aggies Baseball Club to provide a more financially feasible option for young athletes. Witnessing the steep costs associated with select teams firsthand, he envisioned a program that prioritized quality development without burdening families with exorbitant fees. Through his leadership, Herman continues to shape aspiring players into exceptional young men, emphasizing character and skill development at every turn.
Michael Gaskey - Vice President
Michael Gaskey is a dedicated and passionate coach committed to nurturing young athletes both on and off the field. A proud graduate of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2001, Michael brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his role as Head Coach of the 12u Battle Cats advanced recreational baseball team, as well as serving as a coach for an additional 10u recreational team.
With a diverse background in project management, design, and education, Michael is uniquely positioned to inspire and guide his players. His extensive experience includes years of sports officiating, scouting, and coaching across multiple recreational youth programs.
Michael firmly believes that youth sports provide a crucial platform for adolescent development, instilling values such as self-esteem, discipline, and integrity. For him, coaching extends beyond the game itself; it's about fostering teamwork, leadership skills, and a love for health and fitness education. Above all, he strives to create an environment where young athletes can grow, learn, and have fun while pursuing their passion for sports.

Herman Cortez Jr. is a multifaceted leader within the North Texas Aggies Baseball Club. He has served as head coach, assistant coach, and organization treasurer, demonstrating his dedication to both the sport and its financial management. A Texas A&M University alum with a degree in Operations Management, Herman further honed his expertise with a Master's Degree in Finance and Management from Dallas Baptist University.
Drawing from his robust background in both baseball and business, Herman brings a unique blend of skills to the North Texas Aggies Baseball Club. Currently holding the esteemed positions of Chairman of the Board and Treasurer, he plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization toward success both on and off the field. Herman's commitment to excellence and strategic vision contribute significantly to the club's ongoing growth and development.
Josie Cortez - Secretary
Josie Cortez, a founding member of the North Texas Aggies Baseball Club. With over a decade of passion for youth baseball, Josie has played integral roles as a team mom, fundraising coordinator, and event planner. Currently serving as the organization's secretary, Josie leverages her extensive background as an Executive Assistant, boasting over three decades of experience.
Josie's diverse skill set and commitment to organizational excellence make her an invaluable asset to the North Texas Aggies Baseball Club. Her meticulous attention to detail and adept communication skills ensure smooth operations and effective coordination within the organization. With Josie's leadership, the club continues to thrive, fostering a supportive environment for young athletes to grow and succeed both on and off the field.
Andrea Cortez - Member
Andrea Cortez has been a dedicated North Texas Aggies Baseball Club board member for over a decade. With deep roots in youth baseball through her marriage to Coach Herman Jr. for over 19 years, Andrea brings a wealth of experience and insight to the organization. As an esteemed alumna of the University of North Texas, she possesses a strong managerial and business principles foundation, which she eagerly applies to support the club.
Drawing upon her extensive background, Andrea is poised to play a vital role in event planning initiatives for the organization. Her dedication and expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the success of club activities and fostering a vibrant community for young athletes to thrive.
