Code of Conduct

As a member of North Texas Aggies Baseball Club, all players, coaches, parents, and supporters are expected to uphold the following standards of behavior to create a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone involved in the team.

For Players:

  1. Respect for Others: Treat teammates, coaches, opponents, umpires, and spectators with respect at all times. Avoid abusive, insulting, or inappropriate language and behavior.
  2. Commitment and Effort: Attend all practices, games, and team meetings. Always give your best effort, regardless of the situation.
  3. Sportsmanship: Demonstrate good sportsmanship, win or lose. Celebrate successes humbly and accept defeats graciously.
  4. Team Spirit: Support and encourage teammates on and off the field. Recognize that the team’s success is more important than individual performance.
  5. Follow Instructions: Listen to and follow the guidance of coaches during practices and games.
  6. Personal Responsibility: Arrive on time and prepared for practices and games, including bringing proper equipment and attire. Take responsibility for maintaining a clean and organized dugout.
  7. Safety First: Play with care and follow all safety rules to protect yourself and others from injury.

For Coaches:

  1. Lead by Example: Model respect, integrity, and sportsmanship for players and parents to follow.
  2. Fair Treatment: Treat all players fairly, giving equal attention and constructive feedback to support their development.
  3. Encourage Growth: Foster a positive and supportive environment where players feel comfortable learning and improving.
  4. Maintain Professionalism: Avoid abusive language, favoritism, or other behavior that undermines the team’s goals and values.
  5. Safety Prioritization: Ensure all activities are conducted with the highest regard for player safety, including proper equipment checks and first aid readiness.

For Parents and Supporters:

  1. Positive Support: Cheer respectfully for the team and players without criticizing coaches, players, or officials. Avoid negative comments during games or practices.
  2. Respect the Game: Follow all rules and guidelines provided by the team or league. Refrain from unsportsmanlike behavior or interfering with coaching decisions.
  3. Encourage Effort: Focus on effort and teamwork rather than solely on outcomes like wins or losses.
  4. Be a Role Model: Demonstrate respect for all players, coaches, umpires, and other spectators at games and practices.
  5. Communication: Direct any concerns or questions to coaches respectfully and at appropriate times, avoiding confrontations during games.

Consequences for Violations

Any violations of this Code of Conduct will be addressed by the coaching staff and/or team management. Consequences may include but are not limited to:

  • Verbal warnings
  • Temporary suspension from practices or games
  • Permanent removal from the team
